Last films in Animacam: Tout et rien by Flavie Darchen

After learning animation 2 years in the EMCA (school of animation films) in Angoulême, Flavie Darchen directed " Tout et rien ", featured now in Animacam. This short film of animation was screen on the french channel Arte and scheduled in some festivals (CICFF of Chicago, Little big shots of Melbourne, Cinéjunior in Paris).

Beside her animation projects, she organizes workshops of creation in animation with children in particular through the international project " For each problem, a solution " beside Renaud Armanet.

Last films in Animacam: Inma Carpe's enormous animation!

Inma Carpe is a Danish animation with Spanish origins. She was born in Valencia, and she developed her professional career in Spain, Cuba, Germany and Denmark.

Present in numerous animation festivals such as Anifest in Prague or Animamundi in Sao Paulo, she was getting higher her career between Spain and Germany, but currently based in Denmark. After works as Peace, AIDS, or The little head Whispering riding hood, Inma participates in Animacam with two short films:

In the winter palace- an allegory about the dream world and the real and the research of the perfect balance between two- is her first work and it's competing at the retrospective category. Amazing drawings, nice movements and attractive story.

Prayer in the night is a love story between the moon and sun, and as the night to avoid being together. Both figures astrais taken human form to make your dreams reality.

Last Films: Kofti and Gokhan Okur

Gökhan Okur was born in 1981. He is an illustrator and graphic designer. He has been making movies since 2000. His short films have been screened in several festivals in USA, Canada, Poland and Turkey. Presently, he is a master’s degree candidate in visual communication design, and works as a freelance designer.

Nowadays, he has made lots of different animation productions with Kofti, the production company that he has created with other partners. Mixing different ways of explain different stories and carachters, using lots of techniques, experimenting and trying to get new amazing results in his animation stories.

Starting in the festivals tour in 2006 in the New York Turkish festival, Gokhan features his retrospective animation: Last train ride, talking about the first steps to the madness and insanity. After other works like Noci and Hersey Mahvoldu, Gokhan creates this year two new short films, using lines, circles and movements to express new feelings. 2 Hit Combo, a line out of nowhere, a little headache and "insert coin". And a amazing and black and white story: Wave Theory, telling a struggle between an employee and his boss.

David Butler: all the techniques and styles

David Butler is a graduate of the Dun Laoghaire Film Institute of Ireland, Animation Production Course. His animated films “The Joys of Spring” (co-directed) and “The Knock” have been screened at the Galway Film Fleadh and the IFC in Dublin.

David has worked (as Inbetweener / cleanup artist) on “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” a 2003 BAFTA “Best TV Animation “award winning Production for Channel 4. For the last few years David has been developing his own adult animation TV series “Frankie- the Series” which he designed and co-created, with Stew and I Keano writer (Music and Lyrics) + Ding Dong Denny O’ Reilly performer, Paul Woodfull. “Frankie” received script development funding from the Irish Film Board in 2003 and was produced by Alan Maher (Actor “About Adam” + Associate Producer “Boy Eats Girl”) with the BAFTA award winning company Vinegar Hill Productions.

The first of the animations that David features in Animacam is The Joys of Spring, a stop motion animation that tells the story about a student's drinking session takes a strange twist when some beer falls on some dandelions. Nice results with a fast speed in the transitions and very well picture quality. This short film was produced in 1998. David was starting inside animation world, with 21 years old.
The second one is The Knock, a traditional 2D animation based on Real Events. The story talks about a dying woman prays to be reunited with her long lost brother, who has not been seen since his ship was sunk during World War One. Incredible visual treatment and nice carachters and backgrounds. A nice work that makes colourfull a grey ground animation.

Quidam dégomme (A sheep on the roof)

A grey and dreary life, turn off the alarm clock, commute on the Paris Metro, sit with strangers, return dog tired to a lonely apartment: all communicated in a series of monochrome stills before the smoothly animated A Sheep on the Roof gets into its stride with the arrival by parachute of a sheep on the adjacent roof. As the animal makes itself ever more at home, the bemused commuter's life becomes increasingly whimsical. Gauche fellow traveller morphs to giant mother hen and brood, colourful posters appear on the Metro walls and it's party time on the journey. A life transformed forever? Rémy Schaepman made this surreal graduation film whilst at the Institute Saint-Geneviève. There's something of the eccentric world of a Nick Park here as the guy stands wide eyed at the increasingly bizarre antics occurring around him. Made with cutouts, animated in Flash, the coloured inks used in the backgrounds give a textured, watercolour effect that is very attractive. Clearly an outstanding talent, Rémy is now continuing his studies at the renowned Gobelins, l'Ecole de l'Image, in Paris.

Svetlana Filippova: animation experience and sweet stories!

Svetlana Filippova was born in 1968 in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. Graduating in 1991 from Kazakh State University, she went on to complete The High Course for scriptwriters and film directors as animation film director in 1997. One of the most famous animation women in Russia, this well-known artist features in Animacam three of her movies:

The night has come was her first animation work. The artist, using new amazing technique and introducing novelties in animation view and art- experimenting and using arena technique- tries to explain us a simple message: The night is indivisible, it is same for all, but it is different for each: for a boy in a dark room; for a man who live next door; for a cat on window-sill.

With Sarah's Tale, looking for a different way to tell a universal story, and finding a new picture and image in animation, with amazing drawings and worked background into a black and white production, Svetlana says in the tagline: The rule of the universe: the tree should be planted in order for it to grow; the snow should be cleaned so that spring can come; to find something new, the old one must be lost.

How many times do you have to lose love before you loose yourself? And what does this mean if you are a poet? And in case of a poet within Russian Revolution?

Amazing Japanese anime makes his featuring in Animacam.tv with this Tough guy, a retrospective animation made by Shintarou Kishimoto, who mixes 2D and 3D bringing the best reality and rudness to his mantis!

Born in 1966 in Japan, Shintarou was first just a clerk in a rental video shop, but the obsession of animation took over him eventually. Tough guy is one of his first animation works.

Angelos Spartalis arrives in Animacam with two retrospective animations!

Angelos Spartalis (1973) is a painter. He grew up in Crete-Greece and in Düsseldorf-Germany. He is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (Mech.Engineering-Aeronautics). Nowadays, he lives in Athens and in Aghios Nikolaos, Crete.

This controvert and imaginative artist arrives in Animacam sharing two of their lots animations: MONOCYCLE and J. Two retrospective animations, that were created by the author in traditional 2D and sharing easy and simple stories, but real true and lovely!
MONOCYCLE is a cartoon based on the painting series Double Portraits... slow and quiet movements by a monocycle, looking for his own equilibry. J tells 11 short stories with the same starrings. Expecting different feelings, sensations and adventures, their lifes are experimenting continuous changings.

Nikos Koundoros said about Spartalis: "Angelos Spartalis is definitely a pioneer, genius film-maker, and obviously an expert of the new, digital cinema".

TÔT OU TARD: Squirrel and bat

Squirrel and bat. The convergence of different worlds and times of day. Forces in the underground govern night and day – and much more. By accident, this regulated everyday life has ground to a halt. And thus begins the mutual journey of two solitary figures.

“Tôt ou tard” has won over twenty national and international awards and has been screened at more than 80 festivals from 2007 - 2009

Marija Milanovic: great animations!

Marija Milanovic was born 1972 in Kraljevo. Graduated in animation from the "Dunav Film" Film School, in the class taught by professor Rastko Ciric - he also participates in Animacam with his animation FANTASMAGORIE- . The film "Shadow and its man" was her final exam (she has featured it in Animacam.tv, like the other two animation following below.)

Marija Milanovic is an experienced animator from Serbia. She was working for several years for different animations and her animations were representing the Serbian animation in lots of countries and festivals. She has given an incredible aportation in Animacam with three art works:

HOW DID THE LILY ARISE tells the story of a tragic love told in reflection of nature. Inspired by the song Ophelia by Arthur Rimbaud. Nature, plants, flowers... are starrings in this art. Taking a difficult point of view to see, but easy to feel, is one of the most well-known animations of the artist.

SENKA I NJEN COVEK (A SHADOW AND HIS MAN, English title) talks about a man walking, followed by his shadow, but not for long... Strange fears and precautions are the matter of this work, that tries to show us the different ways to understand the same feeling.

NAIVNA PRICA (NAIVE STORY) is the last work present in Animacam.tv. A young country dweller finds herself in the big city for the first time. With a more comedy side, the author bring to us a classic matter turned around to a different sense and understanding...

Georges Sifianos creates and features Cest moa!

This film is an animation of the choreography on the theme of the quest for power. Drawing freely on the picture (manipulator - handling) of Japanese puppet theater Bunraku, the film makes the game of power in the exercise of its variations, its ambiguities, its contradictions.
The action is divided between two actors and two puppets, in a universe where the duel is a way of life, if not become a reason for being.

E2-E4 is a satiric animation about the violent political "games" created by Eduard Sidaruk from Belarus. Two very similar men are preparing a new game. With the same looking like chess, they started to grow up men, and then buildings, and then weapons, arms, bullets, tanks, armies, and then drop bombs, shooting and killing among them...

That's is a very funny game for them: play with lifes, families, cultures, scenaries, countries... humanity. Let's think about it! Why has this people got so much power? Nice esthetic and treatment of the animation work by Sidaruk who brings us a new and interesting point of view about the reality.

How was the Tower of Babel built?

A short animation inspired by the biblical story “The tower of Babel”. Some Devil-Warms try to construct a huge, dragon shaped, building. The consequences of this arrogant attempt will be fatal...

Created by Petros Papadopoulos, this funny and cheeky animation was produced by Oval Image and developed in London Metropolis University in 2004. In the retrospective category, this film tries to show us how was constructed the Tower of Babel, by warrior-worms that celebrate with beer the end of the building construction, deffended and haunted by a big dragon.

Shon Kim: Experimental Korean animation

Shon Kim is one of the most famous experimental creators of animation all around the world. She explains her art like movement, understanding, the looking for the own point of view of coexistence.

Shon Kim has been exploring experimental filmmaking based on animation aesthetics with continuous interest in creating new concept of frame, unusual progress of frames, locomotion and an optical illusion caused by frame works.
In terms of fine art, his experimental drawing series 'untamed Line' has been executed for several years to create new patterns & volume by unfamiliar tools, and painting series 'untamed Paint' is also keeping pace with his line experiment.

She participates with us with two wonderful and incredible creations:
Her creation, Latent shorrow looks for, beside of moving painting #7 to reach coexistent point where abstract and figure are equally fused.
The other one, Soul trace: trace my soul, with my body. The experiment to apply body print to animation.
Shon Kim tries to keep in touch with us and communicate her personal point of view and share with us, searching the perfect equilibrate point.

Hermorrage is about an abstract locomotion of thesis-antithesis in order to evolve and their struggle for synthesis. This experiment is founded on Material Dialectic. ‘Power never bleeds, but history does.’
In addition, she features By accident, that tells the story about a young soldier gets injured seriously by accident and I accidentally witness the moment he is dying. Motivate liquid to move accidentally and then unexpected traces are drawn and animated intuitively. The experiment to seek for uncultivated animating and timing.

One contaminated factory. One love

Panic in the orphanage! The children are mysteriously falling ill and Candy Boy, the most valiant of the orphans, investigates. But the arrival of a new boarder complicates our hero's inquiries.
That´s the matter of Candy Boy, a story about an orphanage and a river in front of the children. Full of oil and fuel from nuclear factories, the river is insane and kids are starting to fall sick, ill and with the pass of time, weaker.
After this, a boy arrived to the orphanage. He´s dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin... And he´s also rude, cheeky and not very polite. Everybody is waiting for Candy Boy revenge to the factory, and suddenly, the new boarder starts to disturbe and, at the same time, get interest on Candy Boy.
Candy Boy is the first animated short helmed by Pascal Alex Vincent. Before that he has directed 4 "regular" short films and is currently post-producing a first feature. Now, he takes part of Animacam.tv releasing and broadcasting with us!
